Portrait of an Invisible Man – A Poem

Portrait of an Invisible Man

Grey wool coat verging on brown
with wood between its teeth and a knotted scarf
hanging loose tickling the stomach with strands

These are the pieces that float in-between the cloth
Inhabiting the void between spine and thread
snug where they are wrapped in

Here the clothes make the man: resting nowhere
these trousers hold up some flesh cupping
intestines less they fall upon cement
